The shot is heat treated in special hardening furnaces

The shot is screened to size, then heat treated and air quenched in two separate operations to achieve proper microstructure and hardness.

This superior heat-treat and air quench process :

  • Eliminates potential exposure to non-visible contaminants that may be present in water quenching processes
  • Produces superior particle integrity with minimal stress crack
