Steel abrasives are essentially used to clean metal surfaces and parts. They are used for example as :

Desanding and cleaning foundry castings

Descaling metal sheets, billets and profiles produced by the steel industry

Surface preparation in steelworks prior to coating

One of the major innovations of the past years in the use of steel abrasives is shot peening for reinforcement of parts subjected to intense fatigue.

Steel abrasive blasting is the best choice for the above application since it is offers many benefits compared to other processes :

Clean
Blasting is usually carried out in a closed area therefore producing no effluents and no pollution. The shot or grit is used several time in the process and is then recycled
Safe
Blasting involves no risk for the operator and is environmental friendly.
Simple
Once the blasting is installed, the work can begin. The blasting parameters (velocity, angle, blasting time, etc.) are defined and the operation can then be repeated without any difficulty.
